The Day of Atonement

(Numbers 29:7-11)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
26The LORD said to Moses,26And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,26The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,26And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,26The LORD again spoke to Moses: "
27"The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves, and present a food offering to the LORD.27“Now on the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be for you a time of holy convocation, and you shall afflict yourselves and present a food offering to the LORD.27"On exactly the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble your souls and present an offering by fire to the LORD.27Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.27The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You are to hold a sacred assembly and practice self-denial; you are to present a fire offering to the LORD.
28Do not do any work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the LORD your God.28And you shall not do any work on that very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the LORD your God.28"You shall not do any work on this same day, for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before the LORD your God.28And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.28On this particular day you are not to do any work, for it is a Day of Atonement to make atonement for yourselves before the LORD your God.
29Those who do not deny themselves on that day must be cut off from their people.29For whoever is not afflicted on that very day shall be cut off from his people.29"If there is any person who will not humble himself on this same day, he shall be cut off from his people.29For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.29If any person does not practice self-denial on this particular day, he must be cut off from his people.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
30I will destroy from among their people anyone who does any work on that day.30And whoever does any work on that very day, that person I will destroy from among his people.30"As for any person who does any work on this same day, that person I will destroy from among his people.30And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.30I will destroy among his people anyone who does any work on this same day.
31You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.31You shall not do any work. It is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.31"You shall do no work at all. It is to be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.31Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.31You are not to do any work. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations wherever you live.
32It is a day of sabbath rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath."32It shall be to you a Sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict yourselves. On the ninth day of the month beginning at evening, from evening to evening shall you keep your Sabbath.”32"It is to be a sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall humble your souls; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your sabbath."32It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.32It will be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must practice self-denial. You are to observe your Sabbath from the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening."

The Feast of Booths

(Nehemiah 8:13-18)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
33The LORD said to Moses,33And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,33Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,33And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,33The LORD spoke to Moses: "
34"Say to the Israelites: 'On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the LORD's Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days.34“Speak to the people of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven days is the Feast of Booths to the LORD.34"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Booths for seven days to the LORD.34Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.34Tell the Israelites: The Festival of Booths to the LORD begins on the fifteenth day of this seventh month and continues for seven days.
35The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work.35On the first day shall be a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work.35'On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work of any kind.35On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.35There is to be a sacred assembly on the first day; you are not to do any daily work.
36For seven days present food offerings to the LORD, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present a food offering to the LORD. It is the closing special assembly; do no regular work.36For seven days you shall present food offerings to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall hold a holy convocation and present a food offering to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly; you shall not do any ordinary work.36'For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the LORD; it is an assembly. You shall do no laborious work.36Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.36You are to present a fire offering to the LORD for seven days. On the eighth day you are to hold a sacred assembly and present a fire offering to the LORD. It is a solemn gathering; you are not to do any daily work."
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
37("'These are the LORD's appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for bringing food offerings to the LORD--the burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings required for each day.37“These are the appointed feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim as times of holy convocation, for presenting to the LORD food offerings, burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its proper day,37These are the appointed times of the LORD which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, to present offerings by fire to the LORD-- burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each day's matter on its own day--37These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:37These are the LORD's appointed times that you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for presenting fire offerings to the LORD, burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its designated day.
38These offerings are in addition to those for the LORD's Sabbaths and in addition to your gifts and whatever you have vowed and all the freewill offerings you give to the LORD.)38besides the LORD’s Sabbaths and besides your gifts and besides all your vow offerings and besides all your freewill offerings, which you give to the LORD.38besides those of the sabbaths of the LORD, and besides your gifts and besides all your votive and freewill offerings, which you give to the LORD.38Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.38These are in addition to the offerings for the LORD's Sabbaths, your gifts, all your vow offerings, and all your freewill offerings that you give to the LORD."
39"'So beginning with the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the crops of the land, celebrate the festival to the LORD for seven days; the first day is a day of sabbath rest, and the eighth day also is a day of sabbath rest.39“On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the LORD seven days. On the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.39'On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the LORD for seven days, with a rest on the first day and a rest on the eighth day.39Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.39You are to celebrate the LORD's festival on the fifteenth day of the seventh month for seven days after you have gathered the produce of the land. There will be complete rest on the first day and complete rest on the eighth day.
40On the first day you are to take branches from luxuriant trees--from palms, willows and other leafy trees--and rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.40And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.40'Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves the foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.40And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.40On the first day you are to take the product of majestic trees--palm fronds, boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook--and rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.
41Celebrate this as a festival to the LORD for seven days each year. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come; celebrate it in the seventh month.41You shall celebrate it as a feast to the LORD for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.41You shall thus celebrate it as a feast to the LORD for seven days in the year. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.41And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.41You are to celebrate it as a festival to the LORD seven days each year. This is a permanent statute for you throughout your generations; you must celebrate it in the seventh month.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
42Live in temporary shelters for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters42You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All native Israelites shall dwell in booths,42'You shall live in booths for seven days; all the native-born in Israel shall live in booths,42Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:42You are to live in booths for seven days. All the native-born of Israel must live in booths,
43so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.'"43that your generations may know that I made the people of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.”43so that your generations may know that I had the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.'"43That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.43so that your generations may know that I made the Israelites live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God."
44So Moses announced to the Israelites the appointed festivals of the LORD.44Thus Moses declared to the people of Israel the appointed feasts of the LORD.44So Moses declared to the sons of Israel the appointed times of the LORD.44And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.44So Moses declared the LORD's appointed times to the Israelites.
